Airlines Asking White House to Drop Pre-Departure Testing for International Arrivals
Officials in the aviation industry are asking the United States government to drop pre-departure coronavirus testing requirements for vaccinated international passengers arriving in America.
According to Reuters.com, Airlines for America, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, International Air Transport Association, Aerospace Industries Association, the U.S. Travel Association and other groups sent a letter demanding change to White House coronavirus response coordinator Jeff Zients.

New Studies Question Lockdown and Travel Ban Effectiveness
Two research studies, one from Johns Hopkins University and the other by Oxera and Edge Health, have found that such measures as lockdowns and blanket travel restrictions are “not an effective way” of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recent research by Oxera and Edge Health has shown that pre-departure testing requirements are likely to be “ineffective at stopping or even limiting the spread of the omicron variant.”
