Would A Government Shutdown Affect Your Travel Plans? Here’s What You Need To Know

Travelers are likely to face some big headaches in the event of a government shutdown.

Lawmakers finally agreed to fund the federal government on Saturday, just before an October 1 shutdown would have curtailed many government services. The just-passed funding expires on November 17, however, leaving open the possibility of another Congressional budget standoff at that time.

If the government does shut down, people traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday will need to be prepared for delays. They should also have backup plans ready, so as to avoid the worst budget impasse.
