If you haven’t already considered getting TSA PreCheck, now — ahead of the busy summer travel season — is the time to apply.

As the pioneer expedited airport security program, TSA PreCheck is a timesaver and stress reliever well worth the $78 five-year membership fee (and $70 online or $78 in-person renewal thereafter).

Here’s what you need to know before you apply.

Launched in 2013, TSA PreCheck is a program for travelers who are deemed low-risk by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration. PreCheck members go through specially designated security lines at airports that often move much faster than the standard TSA security lane.

Delta One Check-in Area Opens at LAX

Delta has unveiled the latest phase in its Delta Sky Way at LAX project, with a new passenger entry point at Terminal 3 and a dedicated check-in area for Delta One customers.

The new West Headhouse entry features self-service kiosks for dropping bags and printing boarding passes, and from later this summer the carrier plans to introduce digital ID technology at its bag drop and security checkpoints, “allowing eligible customers to use their biometric data to more seamlessly move through the airport”.

Meanwhile an exclusive Delta One check-in area on the lower arrivals level of T3 now offers premium customers a private TSA screening lane and direct access to the Delta Sky Club.

IHG Launches Wifi “Auto Connect” Service

IHG Hotels and Resorts has launched a new service enabling guests to automatically connect to wifi when arriving at any of more than 5,000 properties worldwide.

Customers can opt in to the ‘Wi-Fi Auto Connect’ feature through the IHG One Rewards app – a one-time set-up is required where the user enables auto connection via settings, and from then on the device will automatically access individual hotels’ wifi connection without the need for manual log-in or a password.

To put the feature in context, IHG says that it currently logs more than 5.3 million monthly wifi log-ins.
